Cystic Fibrosis Clinical Care and Research In The Chicagoland Area
Founded in 2003 by pediatric pulmonologist Dr. Steven Boas, the Cystic Fibrosis Institute (CFI) is a not-for-profit organization committed to supporting those affected by cystic fibrosis in the Chicagoland area. Our mission is to make a difference in our community by being a meaningful and active source of assistance and advocacy for all individuals with CF and their families.
The Cystic Fibrosis Center of Chicago is Dr. Boas’ clinical practice that offers pioneering care for children and adults with cystic fibrosis. Although there are multiple CF care centers in the Chicagoland area, ours is the only independent cystic fibrosis care center in Chicago and the Midwest, offering individualized and outcome-driven care. We offer groundbreaking treatments to optimize the health of patients diagnosed with CF.

Clinical Research for Cystic Fibrosis
The Cystic Fibrosis Center of Chicago is the Midwest’s premiere center for CF care in a private practice setting. Since 2002, we have been pioneering care for children and adults with CF. The combination of clinical, research, advocacy, and education make the CF Center of Chicago the most comprehensive program in the Chicagoland area.
Support Programs
The Cystic Fibrosis Institute (CFI) offers support programs to serve the medical, emotional, and social needs of those affected by CF. We assist not only the individual but also their psychosocial adjustment. Programs include mentorship, medication, nutritional supplements, and clinical services.

Treatments For CF
Advancing cystic fibrosis knowledge and care has always been a vital part of our mission at the Cystic Fibrosis Institute and the Cystic Fibrosis Center of Chicago. We are active in the worldwide CF community and participate in clinical research studies that test the latest treatments for CF.
I have been seeing Dr. Boas for 15+ years for my Cystic Fibrosis. His approach and care is second to none. He is always working to better my health, has my best interest at heart, willing to go above and beyond, and will advocate for me no matter what. Seeing Dr. Boas is more than seeing my doctor, it's like seeing family.
He helps my daughter who has Cystic Fibrosis a lot. He treats us nicely and definitely, helps get her better. He would show up to her school and give a presentation about CF to the other students. He is a great doctor.
